Fostering Diversity and Inclusion in the Electronic Scene with Resident Advisor

Resident Advisor (RA for short) is a platform founded in 2001 that helps people discover electronic music, artists and events. As a business, they are committed to supporting diversity, inclusion and belonging in the electronic music scene through their company values, internal operations, culture and the content they feature.

RA approached the LMF Network to support their efforts to become a leader that embodies and advocates for DEI practices and principles within the electronic music industry.

What was the overall objective?

To understand where RA was regarding diversity, inclusion and equity and how they could improve across the business to build and maintain inclusive teams.

How did the LMF Network support it?

The LMF Network designed and delivered an EDI programme across areas in RA, such as recruitment, people & culture and leadership. This included in-person strategy sessions and online advisory on diversity, inclusion and equity topics, training on best practices and building essential employee resources, and constant support from the LMF team.

What were the results?

  • Designed RA’s Standards & Ethics Handbook for all employees

  • Delivered 3 strategy sessions on neurodiversity, inclusion and allyship

  • Supported RA with 6 months' worth of advisory

and we are still going strong.

What was the feedback from the business?

At RA, we wanted to ensure everyone in the business had the foundations to build and maintain inclusive teams for our staff. That is why we approached Sonya and her team at LMF Network to bring them as external ED&I partners to support our equity, diversity and inclusion efforts. We have received from them constant support, in-person strategy sessions and EDI actions and general advisory on all things equity, diversity and inclusion. We look forward to building and implementing our 2023 ED&I programme and initiatives that encourage inclusion and belonging throughout our company and RA community.
